Hiro "Oni" Wantanabe is a playable Operator character available in the multiplayer modes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and Warzone 2.
Oni was released with the launch of the game on October 28, 2022, and became playable in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 when the game released on November 16, 2022, along with Season One.
A Japanese descendent of a centuries’ old samurai clan who left home as a teenager to avoid following his father’s wishes of him joining a crime syndicate. After serving abroad, he joined his country’s Special Assault Team, but was dishonorably discharged thanks to the influence and power of his father, now a leader of that same syndicate. Currently, Oni is a gun for hire who vows for justice under the old samurai code.
Oni is an exclusive PlayStation pre-order Operator. Oni will not be available on other platforms until October 27, 2023. This Operator will arrive on Xbox and PC at the end of the PlayStation 1-year exclusivity.
