The Bartmoss Collective and their elusive prophet, Swedenborg-Riviera are haunting Night City’s net. Time to meet the prophet. This is the context behind the Cyberpunk 2077 Killing in the Name Side Job.
Cyberpunk 2077 Killing in the Name Walkthrough
Killing in the Name is a side job that can be started fairly early in the game by checking out the Bartmoss Collective website on the net at V’s apartment in Little China. Read through the website’s posts, specifically the one titled “Reward For Any Info on Swedenborg!” to continue the side job.
Call Bes Isis, the poster of the top post on the Bartmoss Collective website to get info about Swedenborg-Riviera. Bes Isis will not pick up her phone and will go to voicemail. In order to continue this side job, you’ll need to complete the series of side jobs starting with “Chippin’ In.”
Call Bes Isis (Nancy)
Once you’ve completed the side jobs starting with “Chippin’ In,” call Nancy about the post she made a while back on the Bartmoss Collective website. She’ll pick up this time but tell V that she never made any progress on that case and that it was brick wall after brick wall. Nancy will reveal that she did have one lead, a signal she traced from the website to the Santa Domingo district.
Follow the Santo Domingo Lead
Follow the lead Nancy gave you to an empty lot in the Santo Domingo district.
Scan the area for clues, which will reveal the importance of a fusebox in the lot.
Climb the fire escape stairs up along the cables coming from the fusebox to find a router you can hack via link.
After hacking the router successfully you will receive quickhack components and some eddies, and Johnny will make a comment about how this is a wild goose chase, but you will receive a text with the next location.
Follow the Next Lead to the Badlands
Your next objective will be located in the Badlands near the Solar Arrays fast travel station. Go toward the objective marker and take out the Wraiths surrounding the RV. After taking out the Wraiths, climb on top of the RV to find the next router. Hack the router like you did the last one, and you’ll get another witty remark from Johnny and another text with the next location.
If you circle around the RV to the front door and look inside, you can see a ton of chemistry equipment which is likely a reference to the legendary show Breaking Bad.
Follow the Next Lead to Biotechnica Flats
Once you arrive at your next objective, you’ll need to climb the large sign numbered 1.
After climbing to the top of the sign, go to the mid-point of the large metal protrusion to find another router.
Hack the router, read the text, and head to the final location. An amusement park on the pier in West Wind Estate.
The Fortune Teller on the Pier
After making it to the pier, scan the area to find your next objective point. You’ll be led to a fortune teller robot on the pier that has apparently been reprogrammed to spout anti-establishment ideas. The fortune teller was connected to the net, which is why it’s able to make posts on the Bartmoss Collective website.
You now have the choice to either leave the bot alone or reprogram its algorithm. Leave it alone by telling Johnny “Chill. Not gonna ruin your fun.” If you happen to have an Intelligence Attribute level of 11 or higher you can reprogram it to preach complete nonsense, which makes Johnny even happier. Either of these choices pleases Johnny and ends the mission on a positive. Call Nancy and let her know the truth of Swedenborg-Riviera to receive some eddies and end the side job.
The reward for completing the side job Killing in the Name is 3,960 eddies and 570 XP.
