Fortnite has been one of the most played games since its release back in 2017. Even though its popularity has dipped a bit in recent times, the game still boasts a huge player base. One of the major reasons Fortnite is still popular is due to Epic Games constantly adding new elements to the game. Every season brings a different flavor, and there are always new things to try in the game. One of the features that were added later into Fortnite is the spectate feature, which was not available at the time of release. However, after multiple requests from the community, the feature was added during Chapter 2 of the game. Although most players would know about spectating by now but by chance, if you are unaware of it, here is how to do so.
Using the Spectate Feature in Fortnite
To spectate a friend, you both need to be in the same lobby. Unlike most battle royale games where you can spectate any friend without joining them, Fortnite requires you to be in the same lobby. Once you are in the same lobby, simply click on their name and click on the "watch game" option.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you can only spectate 30 seconds after the player you are spectating drops from the bus. If the player you are spectating is still in the battle bus, it won't work.
The last condition for spectating is that every player in the lobby should either be spectating or playing the game. If there are multiple players in a lobby and one of them is not spectating or playing the game, the remaining players won't be able to spectate as well. It might seem confusing to many, but this is mainly to avoid any foul play as some might use this opportunity to cheat in the game.
A lot of players have complained that spectating screen often takes a lot of time to load. This has been a persisting issue that is yet to be addressed properly. This being said, players simply need to wait a little longer, and the screen should load in most cases. Players that still run into trouble can head over to the Epic Games website and let them know by filing a complaint using the Fortnite Support feature.
Fortnite's Chapter 2 Season 6 is currently underway in the game. Like every new season, Epic Games has introduced a bunch of elements that have changed the meta. Taming is one of the new features that was added to the game as part of the Chapter 2 Season 6 update. As the word suggests, players can now tame wild animals that are scattered throughout the map. Animals that can be tamed include Wolf, Chicken, and Boars. All three bring something unique to the table, however, Wolf would be the best choice in most cases as it is the only animal that provides direct assistance in combat.
