Cyberpunk 2077 is a game I’ve spent my recent weeks playing a lot, and the one attribute I’m happy I invested in early was the Technical Ability attribute. In fact, Cyberpunk 2077 Crafting perks, within the Technical Ability attribute, are some of the most useful perks in the game, which is why I’m going to break down why Cyberpunk 2077 Crafting perks are so useful people would argue it’s a broken system (in all the best ways). Keep reading to find out how to best utilize Cyberpunk 2077 Crafting perks early in the game, and how to get to the point of craftiness where you don’t need to worry about money or item components ever again.
Cyberpunk 2077 Crafting Perks, or How to Make Eddies Fast
The alternate heading for this section could easily read “How Abusing a Crafting Feedback Loop Can Make You Millions!” but the more I craft, the more I feel this is a beautifully amazing feature, not a bug. So, let’s not waste time and get to it. I’ll explain how to make TONS of money quick, and level up crafting at the same time.
It All Starts With Soda
Cyberpunk 2077 Crafting perks and the crafting system essentially bases itself on the ability to disassemble items to get item components in return (common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary). The most prevalent of these items, the ones that I base this entire method around, are drinks. All drinks can be disassembled, while food items cannot (for some reason). Because of this, soda machines will be your go-to spots to restock common item components to begin the crafting loop. You’ll want to focus on soda machines that cost 10 eddies to purchase one soda and spam the button to buy, between two buttons.
Make sure you angle V away from the slot the sodas come out of to maximize the amount you can get. Soda machines reset every 24 hours, so feel free to wait to skip time from the start menu to restock the machines in a moment.
MaxDocs and Frag Grenades, The Loop Continues
Once you’ve disassembled your stash of soda and acquired your trove of item components, you can begin upcycling the components to create components of higher rarity. This step involves crafting uncommon-tier F-GX Frag Grenades or the MaxDoc Mk. 1 (uncommon/green rarity MaxDoc), and then disassembling them in your inventory to get more components than you started with. Make sure NOT to consume any of the MaxDocs or use any of the grenades you want to disassemble, otherwise, that stack of MaxDocs/F-GX Frag Grenades will not be disassemblable, and will have to be sold (or maybe dropped and picked up again) to restore the ability to disassemble these affected items (caused by an underlying bug).
Selling Components to Drop Points/Vendors
After transforming all of your sodas into higher-cost components, you can take them to the nearest vendor or drop point to sell off all the components to begin the process anew. Another thing to note is that vendors and drop points typically have around 20,000 eddies (eurodollars) at their disposal at one time. You can wait 24 hours to reset the vendors’ cash reserves and restock their item inventories, which takes a few seconds. So, there’s no need to exit the game or save and reload from that same place. After collecting your fat stacks of eddies (eurodollars), go back to the vending machines to start the process again. There are, however, some key Cyberpunk 2077 Crafting perks I’ll go over next that amplify this process and make it even more profitable.

Cyberpunk 2077 Crafting Perks and Skill Progression Rewards
These Cyberpunk 2077 Crafting perks and skill progression rewards listed above are essential to the core playstyle of a crafting-focused V. If all the above skills are acquired and V reaches level 20 in the crafting skill, the total bonuses they add up to are scary good. The total crafting cost reduction would total a 45% reduction, with an extra and separate 20% chance overall to craft an item for free. I have seen this happen to me many, many times, which again equals more free resources. The total chance to acquire components of the same quality as the item from disassembling is 30%, and the total upgrade cost reduction is 30% plus an additional and separate 10% chance to upgrade the item for free. I found that upgrading generally costs more than crafting, so having this 10% chance to upgrade the item for free was a welcome bonus and a perk I chose to spend a skill point on.
In the end, Night City is best conquered the way you want to conquer it. Be it on the nomad path, as a street kid, or a corpo agent, the crafting system is V’s best friend and the basis of a smart playstyle. I still aim to play the game with other playstyles and invest in other skills, but having the option to stock up on ammo, money, and equipment before a big gig is one I’m glad I have. So, I can say I'm thankful that Cyberpunk 2077 Crafting perks are so beneficial, wherever you are in your path to the top in Night City.
