As an Anemo support character, Venti is definitely an S tier character that you want on your team. His element makes him suitable for almost any team composition and his ability to group enemies makes him extremely valuable for domains and the Spiral Abyss. This article will introduce the various builds you can have for Venti, including weapons, artifacts, talents and considerations for F2P or beginner players.
Weapons
You have several choices for Venti's weapons, I will give 2 builds below:
The best choice would be the 5 star Skyward Harp, which can be obtained from the Standard banner. With a CRIT Rate sub-stat, this weapon is definitely a powerful one that can help you to deal greater Anemo damage with each Ultimate. Swirling with other characters' elemental damage also has increased damage as a result.
The Stringless is comparable to the Skyward Harp, although it ultimately will not do as much damage as a 4 star weapon. However, the increased DMG for Elemental Skill and Ultimate in the Stringless' passive fulfils Venti's role well.
If you have not been able to obtain the Stringless, using the Windblume Ode could work too. The Windblume Ode will be available using event currency during the Windblume Festival event, though we cannot be sure if it is comparable to the power of the Stringless. Elegy for the End is the new 5 star bow available on the weapon banner and can be an outstanding option for Venti too. However, do note that the Skyward Harp is still a better choice if that is a weapon that you own. With an Energy Recharge sub-stat, it allows for consistent ultimates to be used, which also contributes to your other characters Energy Recharge.
For free to play players, the Favonius Warbow can also be used on Venti. It has an energy recharge sub-stat and the passive allows for greater energy regeneration, something that is definitely valuable in late-game.
Additionally, Sacrificial Bow is also a choice, but I would recommend using the Elemental Mastery bows instead if you have obtained them from Gacha. The Sacrificial Bow passive allows for a 40% chance of an Elemental Skill CD ending.
Overall, when looking for weapons for Venti, I would recommend the Stringless over the Energy Recharge weapons available due to its amazing passive.
Artifacts
The best build for Venti's Artifacts is slightly dependent on your team composition, but in general, I would recommend a 4 set Viridescent Venerer's set. I will discuss the team composition in the "Party Setup" section later and I will provide two options for artifacts here.
A 4 set of Viridescent Venerers allows for both the 15% Anemo DMG bonus, as well as the decreased RES of elements infused in the Swirl reaction and increased Swirl DMG by 60%. This is arguably the best for higher Anemo DMG from Venti, and your Main DPS damage. Ensure that you use an applicator character with Venti's ultimate, before using your Main DPS. For example, use Xiangling's Guoba to apply Pyro with Venti's ultimate to decrease Pyro RES of enemies, after which you can use Diluc's ultimate. Alternatively, if you use a mainly Anemo team such as Xiao, Venti, Jean, you might be better off using a 2-set Noblesse Oblige and a 2-set Viridescent Venerer's. Since your Main DPS is an Anemo character, you can just use Venti for elemental particles and grouping enemies. Having Venti's ultimate with a DMG bonus is definitely more powerful in this case. For beginners, use an Instructor 4 Set or Exile 4 set to increase Elemental Mastery or Energy Recharge after each of Venti's Ultimate.
The stats and sub-stats that you should prioritise are as below:
- Flower sub-stats: Crit DMG, Crit Rate and ATK
- Feather stat: ATK; sub-stat: Crit DMG, ATK
- Watch stat: ATK
- Goblet stat: Anemo DMG Bonus (can be any artifact set, as long as the main stat is Anemo DMG)
- Mask stat: Crit DMG or Crit Rate (depending on your other artifact sub-stats and weapon)
Talents and Playstyle
The best order to upgrade your talent is below:
Wind's Grand Ode > Skyward Sonnet > Divine Marksmanship
Venti should not be used for his normal attacks at all, so Divine Marksmanship is definitely the last talent to level up. When using his Elemental Skill Skyward Sonnet, ensure that you hold down the button to generate a wind current that lasts for 20 seconds. This allows you to group enemies more easily or helps with exploration.
Party Setup
Venti has a rather flexible party setup, due to the nature of the Anemo element. However, do note that you should not have too many Geo characters in your party, since Geo is inert to Anemo and will not allow for any elemental reactions. For example, having Ningguang, Zhongli, Albedo and Venti will not allow for elemental reactions. Swirl is an extremely powerful reaction that should be utilised by having various other elements in your team. One such setup could be Diluc, Xingqiu, Venti and Qiqi.
If you have Xiao on your team, Venti will definitely work well with him by providing Elemental Orbs to generate energy. Additionally, grouping enemies with Venti's Ultimate makes using Xiao's plunge attacks easier.

Overall, Venti is definitely a bard that you want in your party. Most late-game content is much easier if you have crowd control and energy recharge, so Venti is particularly valuable.
