This week, Genshin Impact's new Ver. 1.3 was released, officially releasing Xiao as a playable character, together with new quests, items, weapons, and enemies, including the new boss, known as the Primo Geovishap, which gives players the ascension materials necessary to ascend Xiao.
The boss has proved itself to be quite fun, but most importantly, it shows one more thing, the way that miHoYo keeps improving the use of the Geo Element in battles, for the excitement of the Ninguang, Noelle, Zhongli, and Albedo players, and of course, those that use the Traveler in its Geo Form.
That said, the fact that the Geo characters are not essential, but ideal to face the boss, countering his strongest attack by using the crystalize or ability imbued shields, just show how much focus the company's given to the element after the events that followed the Zhongli's release, with caused the character to receive improvements, most made available after the most recent update.
See the trailer for the update below:
Seeing the element getting even more focus, after staying in the backseat for so long, makes me impressed and proud of the developers and the community, and it shows that we can expect even more balancing changes in the future, a fact that will allow even more character combinations to shine on the battlefield.
You can check below, the final and main changes that were made in Zhongli and on Geo in general, which were revealed by miHoYo a few days before the update was available globally.
- Zhongli's Elemental Skill "Dominus Lapidis", when held, will now cause nearby Geo constructs to explode dealing Geo damage and creating a shield of jade, which absorbs up to 150% of all elemental and physical damage suffered. Not only that, but the character currently protected by the shield will decrease nearby enemies Elemental RES and Physical RES.
- Zhongli's second Ascension Talent will now cause his abilities damage to be increased based on his max HP. His normal, charged attacks, and plunged attacks by 1.39%, his Elemental Skill, Dominus Lapidis' Stone Stele, by 1.9%, and his Elemental Bust, Planet Befall's, by 33% of his Maximum HP.
- The Geo Element resonance, "Enduring Rock", will now increase shield strength by 15%, and the characters protected by the shield will now deal 15% more damage, and damaging enemies will decrease their Geo resistance by 20% for 15 seconds.
- Geo shields will no longer have a ''250% Geo DMG Absorption'' but will offer travelers with ''150% Physical DMG and Elemental DMG Absorption.''
Right now, players can get ready for the Lantern Rite event, set to start on February 10, by taking part in a few already released quests, like the amazing "Bough Keeper: Dainsleif" world quest, in which the mysterious character makes his first in-game appearance, for the thrill of all players. Travelers may also start to roll for Xiao to be fully ready for his history chapter.
Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PCs, and mobile devices. Don't miss out on the chance to explore Teyvat and to get the Conquerer of Demons, with will be available until February 17.
