The Witcher 3 PS5 Release Date is still planned for 2022
The new-gen port of The Witcher 3 was unveiled all the way back in 2020. Earlier this year, CD Projekt Red announced that it was taking the development of the title in-house and so delayed its release to allow for more time to work on the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions.

It's currently targeting a Q4 release (October – December). A new leak reveals a possible release date for the upgraded PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Witcher 3 PS5 Release Date UPDATE
The Witcher Twitter account has officially announced the next-gen update will be launching on Wednesday, 14 December 2022.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on December 14, developer CD Projekt RED announced. It will be available as a free upgrade to existing owners of the game.
As you might imagine, The Witcher 3 on the PS5 and Xbox Series X is going to be a little more than just a re-release.
This means we're getting ray-tracing, faster load times, smoother frame rates and most likely 4K, or at least Upscaled 4K, visuals.

The Witcher: Wild Hunt is a story-driven open-world RPG set in a visually stunning fantasy universe full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. In The Witcher, you play as professional monster hunter Geralt of Rivia tasked with finding a child of prophecy in a vast open world rich with merchant cities, pirate islands, dangerous mountain passes, and forgotten caverns to explore.
As war rages on throughout the Northern Realms, you take on the greatest contract of your life — tracking down the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world.
The game takes place in a fictional fantasy world based on Slavic mythology. Players control Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer for hire known as a Witcher, and search for his adopted daughter, who is on the run from the otherworldly Wild Hunt.
Players battle the game's many dangers with weapons and magic, interact with non-player characters, and complete quests to acquire experience points and gold, which are used to increase Geralt's abilities and purchase equipment. The game's story has three possible endings, determined by the player's choices at key points in the narrative.

As Game Infinitus reports, a British retailer seems to have leaked the release for the PS5 and Xbox Series X remake of The Witcher 3. The person claims to work at UK retailer Game and mentions that they received an update in their database with information about upcoming games.
It is essentially a sheet with a list of games and their release dates. In the center of the image, fans can read December 9, 2022, as the release date for The Witcher 3's current-gen upgrade.
As always, any leak should be taken with a grain of salt, and interested customers will have to wait until CD Projekt Red announces the final release date for the current-gen version of The Witcher 3. Still, the given date doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility, since December 9 is a Friday, a popular choice for the release of new video games.
