Genshin Impact: 6 Best Team Builds

This article will tell you about 6 of the best team builds to use in Genshin Impact, typically for Spiral Abyss. The information is retrieved from the survey conducted on China's server for all users that have completed Floor 12 of Spiral Abyss. I have looked through the responses from the survey and compiled these commonly used teams. In this article, I will give variations of some of the characters. I understand that not everyone has all the characters for the "best builds", but fret not as there are great 4 star substitutes for 5-star characters as well.

Team 1 - Geo 

The roles of each team member are as follows: 

1. Zhongli: a tanky shield that prevents characters from dying, burst DPS with ultimate, constant Geo DMG with his pillar and decreases enemy RES
2. Ningguang: Main Geo DPS with a shield that buffs Geo DMG 
   1. Noelle C6 (substitute): Main DPS, heals, provides a shield   
3. Albedo: Burst DPS, constant Geo DMG with his flower   
   1. Geo Traveller (substitute): Burst DPS 
4. Jean: heals in large AoE, deals enemies fall DMG with Elemental Skill (Hold)
   1. Bennett (substitute): providing a huge ATK buff, breaking Cryo shields of enemies (such as Cryo Cicin Mage), heals

Having a double Geo team has the following effects:   

• Increase shield strength by 15%
• Increase damage dealt by 15% when protected by shield
• When protected by a shield, dealing damage to monsters will decrease Geo resistance by 20% for 15 seconds. 

Team 2 - Anemo 

The roles of each team member are as follows: 

1. Xiao: Main DPS
2. Xiangling: Pyro applicator with a placeable elemental skill to help with Venti Ultimate, affecting enemies with Pyro for Swirl 
   1. Any elemental applicator (preferably with an elemental skill that can be placed) 
3. Bennett: providing a huge ATK buff, breaking Cryo shields of enemies (such as Cryo Cicin Mage), heals
   1. Jean (substitute): heals in large AoE
   2. Any healer 
4. Venti: groups enemies to make Xiao's ultimate easier, applies elements to enemies, charges Xiao's ultimate, buffs elements that are included in Swirl (using Viridescent Venerer 4 set)
   1. Sucrose (substitute): groups enemies, buffs elements that are included in Swirl (using Viridescent Venerer 4 set), C6 Sucrose has an Elemental DMG Bonus

Having a double Anemo and double Pyro team has the following effects: 

• Decreases stamina consumption by 15%
• Increases movement speed by 10%
• Skill cooldown reduction by 5%
• Increases ATK by 25%
• 40% less time affected by Cryo  

Team 3 - Vaporise

The roles of each team member are as follows: 

1. Hu Tao: insane Pyro DPS damage
   1. Diluc (substitute): Pyro Main DPS, using his elemental skill to deal Pyro DMG
2. Zhongli: a tanky shield that prevents Hu Tao from dying despite having low HP, burst DPS with ultimate, constant Geo DMG with his pillar and decreases enemy RES
   1. Diona (substitute): Cryo shield, heals, ability to Proc Melt DMG (typically better for Pyro Main DPS), having C6 Diona will give a buff to your Elemental Mastery
3. Xingqiu: reducing damage taken through rainswords, increasing resistance to interruption for main DPS, giving constant Vaporise damage for Pyro DPS
4. Bennett: providing a huge ATK buff, breaking Cryo shields of enemies (such as Cryo Cicin Mage), heals

Other alternatives include adding Chongyun to the team to Proc Melt DMG or using Yanfei as your Pyro Main DPS. Having a double Pyro team has the following effects: 

• Increases ATK by 25%
• 40% less time affected by Cryo  

Team 4 - Permafreeze

The roles of each team member are as follows: 

1. Mona: Elemental Skill, Ultimate Proc Vaporise, Hydro DPS
   1. Tartaglia (substitute): Main Hydro DPS
2. Ganyu: Cryo Main DPS, Proc Frozen for permafreeze comp  
3. Diona: Cryo shield, heals, ability to Proc Frozen
4. Jean: heals in large AoE
   1. Venti (substitute): groups enemies, applies elements to enemies, charges ultimates, buffs elements that are included in Swirl (using Viridescent Venerer 4 set)

Other alternatives include using Chongyun for Frozen reactions. Having a double Cryo team has the following effects: 

• Increases critical rate against enemies affected by Cryo or are Frozen by 15%
• 40% less time affected by Electro   

Team 5 - Elemental 

The roles of each team member are as follows: 

1. Bennett: providing a huge ATK buff, breaking Cryo shields of enemies (such as Cryo Cicin Mage), heals
2. Mona: Elemental Skill, Ultimate Proc Vaporise, Hydro DPS 
   1. Xingqiu (substitute): reducing damage taken through rainswords, increasing resistance to interruption for main DPS, giving Vaporise damage
3. Xiangling: Pyro applicator with a placeable elemental skill to Proc Vaporise
   1. Yanfei (substitute): Pyro Main DPS, Proc Vaporise and Melt
4. Chongyun: Proc Melt, Frozen 
   1. Diona (substitute): Cryo shield, heals, ability to Proc Melt DMG (typically better for Pyro Main DPS, such as Yanfei), having C6 Diona will give a buff to your Elemental Mastery

Having a double Pyro team has the following effects: 

• Increases ATK by 25%
• 40% less time affected by Cryo  

Team 6 - Childe Support 

The roles of each team member are as follows: 

1. Tartaglia: Main Hydro DPS
2. Xiangling: Guoba used to affect enemies with Pyro (works best with an Elemental Mastery build of Xiangling), Ultimate used to constantly Proc Vaporise
   1. Fischl (substitute): Oz placed to deal Electro-charged and Overloaded damage 
3. Xingqiu: reducing damage taken through rainswords, increasing resistance to interruption for main DPS, giving Vaporise damage
4. Bennett: providing a huge ATK buff, breaking Cryo shields of enemies (such as Cryo Cicin Mage), heals

Other alternatives include adding Chongyun to the team for Frozen reactions. Having a double Hydro and double Pyro team has the following effects: 

• Increases incoming healing effects by 30%
• 40% less time affected by Pyro
• Increases ATK by 25%
• 40% less time affected by Cryo
